26 Years and 40 Days

A man of advanced years, Ben Marshall takes stock of his life. His often dark introspections lay bare the frailty of humankind. Ben knows that he is not alone when it comes to facing lifelong demons, the feeling of guilt and the unwelcome memories of a mostly misspent life. He also knows that the futile battle against insomnia and physical decline isn't unique. All of his sporadic fight backs against the vices he can't beat, predictably end in bitter capitulation, in just the same way as his feeble opposition to manic bouts of OCD.

Occasional relief from this dark tale comes in the form of Ben's covert observations of the mysterious old man, lovingly tending to his garden below his window…
