Eighteen-year-old Jaxon has always been a bit different. Ever since he can remember he's heard another voice in his head and seen another reflection in the mirror. He doesn't truly know who or what the Inner is. He just knows they've never been separated.

 Jaxon's worked hard to keep his secret from everyone including his parents and his best friends Pete and Sadia. Now on a cross-country road trip things are about to change. The inner is tired of waiting and begins to push Jaxon, trying to find his mental and physical limits, if there are any limits at all. Jaxon is exhilarated but worried as he's left to wonder if either will survive.
