Publisher Description

A Can of Nuts is just that—short stories, poem, essays, and fish stories. Some are very funny, some will make you stop and think, and some will make you feel good. There is a tribute to his adopted father, Jim L. Anglin, who was a song writer and a very early influence in the writer's life both as a person and a lover of music. The essays have subjects far ranging from the treatment of African Americans in the 1950s to what's good to eat for the holidays. The short stories just as varied in nature. One is about a murder while one is about a holiday gathering of a family whose members come from far away to be with their parents and siblings. Some of the poems are heartfelt while others are of a whimsical nature. One outstanding entry is "Homeless." For the lighter side there is a selection of fishing stories that come from Arkansas to Georgia to Florida and Tennessee. Most are actually true, but some are, let's say, enhanced. Altogether, it is a good read. Enjoy!
