Publisher Description
This hero needs a holiday miracle or two—and she’s just the one to deliver.
A standalone holiday story from New York Times bestselling author Vivian Arend.
Single father Ryan Zhao didn’t expect a ghost from his past to literally slide back into his life. His longtime friendship with Madison Joy is a pure, sweet memory, and with the holidays fast approaching, her surprise visit is perfect. Maddy’s a breath of fresh air, full of ideas and enthusiasm—and far too attractive to a lonely man like him. Best friends to lovers might be tempting, but it’s also dangerous since she’s leaving after Christmas.
Madison thrives on fixing things. If Ryan insists she stick around and bother him and his adorable daughter for all of December, she’ll do what she can to make his life brighter. Which means reviving their ugly sweater tradition, organizing a not-so-traditional Nutcracker—and fighting to keep from falling in love with her former best friend and his motherless child.
She’s already given up her dreams once to help take care of her family. No matter how much he wants her to stay, Ryan refuses to ask her to do it again for him and his little girl. Can holiday magic find a way to take these two lonely hearts from friends to forever?

A Hero’s Christmas Hope.
Simply loved this story! So nice to also get a glimpse of and catchup with the regular characters in Heart Falls. A great read to while away a chilly day! Highly recommended.
A wonderful Christmas story!
There are just some authors who bring a feeling of home and hearth; and from the moment you turn that very first page, until the last word is read, a peace settles inside, and all is right with the world. For me this always happens every time I revisit the wonderful, proud and caring residents of Heart Falls. This is a community that looks out for each other and ensures that all are included in their extended family.
A Hero’s Christmas Hope brings us the story of Ryan Zhao and his adorable 10-year-old daughter Talia who have been on their own for far too many years after personal tragedy. But a whirlwind called Madison is destined to turn their lives upside down and become the solution to a fundraising dilemma. Madison has been Ryan’s best friend for many years, and arrives for an unexpected visit, but only after she requires rescuing by none other than Ryan.
Ryan is a man who helps everyone; and even when the coffers seem depleted, he digs deep and finds more to give. But a man can only give so much, before he needs to look inside and discover what he’s missing to be complete. Madison has devoted a decade to raising her brothers and ensuring her mother was back on her feet after losing her dad. But now is her time, and her lay over in Heart Falls with Ryan is just as stop along the way to her future independence…or is it?
These wonderful and delightfully likeable characters will try to fight the undeniable attraction that has sizzled beneath the surface since they reconnected after so many years, but when it’s right it’s right. So when their desire won’t be denied and as so often happens, love is nipping at the heels of lust, can Ryan and Maddy cross the line into something more without damaging their unique and unshakeable friendship?
Settle in and prepare to be entertained by this laugh out loud, warm and fuzzy, and exceptional festive story of ugly sweaters, a crazy Christmas performance of the Not-So-Nutcracker and a town full of the best people you would ever want to meet. That’s what you get when you visit Heart Falls.
