After a woman's body is found in a local beauty spot, her heart surgically removed, D.I. Andy Ross and his team are called in to investigate.
But this time, they face a criminal mastermind unlike any they have before, who soon becomes known as The Doctor. All evidence points to romantic connections between the killer and his prey, with an eerie lullaby left playing on an old tape recorder next to the victims.

The story is great, the editing and proofreading appalling. Continuity errors, unfinished sentences, incorrect words, sometimes twice on the same page.
Has potential but let down by poor editing and writing
I had so much much hope for this book. The premise is great, the evil murderer is a strong character but it is all weakened but terrible editing and proofreading. For a book that was only 244 pages long, there was a lot of unnecessary padding, and an very old fashioned view of making the female police officers less capable of their male counterparts due to their feminine fragility, while the male police officers are distracted by their good looks. Very disappointing
