A Postcard from Hamburg

1943. WW2 is raging in Europe. While carrying out an unpleasant assignment for British Counterespionage in London, Kurt Müller discovers a photograph of his girlfriend, Gudrun, among the possessions of a dead German agent. Then his mother receives a postcard from Gudrun, posted in Germany, and he knows the Gestapo has taken her… He goes AWOL, travels to France with his friend and fellow agent, Erika and, after helping her and the Free French with her mission, goes on to Hamburg in pursuit of Gudrun. He witnesses the devastating bombing of Hamburg before making his way to a German castle in search of the love of his life. Erika and Kurt meet again to undertake a perilous return journey, that includes a murderous confrontation with the Butcher of Lyon. The story culminates in a series of unexpected, surprising plot twists.
