A Ritchie Story

An ebook of fictional short stories, based loosely on the real life histories of characters in our own family tree. We have spent the last two years trailing through Ancestry.com finding all this information out.


Inspired by the BBC documentary Queen Victoria’s Slums and the TV Series Outlander, we are in love with all things historical, based on social issues, psychology, and context of the times they occurred.


Being that we have also loved reading the hard copies of all the records in our ancestry, we have also chosen to write our short stories out in hand writing. 


In an age full of computers, text and technology we thought we would bring something old world, and authentic to your viewing. We hope you love our hand written short stories!


We will endeavour to write out new short stories on a regular basis, similar to how a tv series gives you an episode regularly to keep you going.


Our plan is to create new short story series for different parts of our tree. We look forward to your involvement and following our journey :) This first series begins in Glasgow and the life of the Richie Family in the 20th century. Dedicated to my Glaswegian father who recently passed away. Slancha.
