_______
In A Royal Duty, Paul Burrell reveals new truths about Princess Diana - and presents for the first time as faithful an account of her thoughts as we can ever hope to read.
He was the favourite footman who formed a unique relationship with the Queen.
He was the butler who the Princess of Wales called 'my rock' and 'the only man I can trust'.
He was accused of theft, then acquitted following the historic intervention of the monarch.
He was the Princess' most intimate confidante - and is the only person able to separate the myth from the truth of the Diana years.
Now, at last, Paul Burrell cuts through the gossip and the lies and takes us closer to the complex heart of the Royal Family than ever before.

“A Royal Duty”
Such an amazing book I couldn’t put it down. To capture a day in the life of HRH Princess Dianna I felt I was there in her life, in the moment with her. The honesty and selflessness of Mr Burrell needs to be commended. I can totally understand how working for such an outstanding person your family life may have suffered at times. But I’m sure your own family would have felt loved at all times and understood the dedication you needed to give to your work, especially given the position and work load you undertook.
Thank you Mr Burrell for sharing your experience and time spent with each of the members of the Royal family. For a layperson it is unbelievable to acknowledge the pressures you were put under. And thank you for bringing understanding of the life of HRH Princess Dianna. Through good times and bad HRH stood tall and overcome the pressures of her status being part of the Royal family and eventually blossomed into the strong willed person who tried to help and protect everyone she possibly could. Her children were her biggest love and passion and she would be extremely proud to see them now.
Thank you again Mr Burrell for such an amazing book.
A Royal Duty by Paul Burrell
The best book I have ever read, never cried so much, so moving, so brave and courageous of Paul to write this book and all he did for wonderful Diana over many years before and after her terrible death ..to be beside her all night before her funeral ...truly loyal, heartbreaking, amazing, loved the book more than any other I have read... Wish I could personally meet the man and congratulate him. Nice to think he has not told certain private matters of Diana in the book but instead keep this private to himself. I am just so sorry he went though so much pain in years after her death with his awful ordeal of his endless trial... So glad Diana had you over the years to share her most private thoughts, to also laugh and cry with....Well done Paul....
