After Eventide

Loraine Merriwether, future third grade teacher, is staying with her father at his beach appartment for the summer, just like every year. It is a lonely summer until she meets Harold Godwin,a vampire who is a medieval warrior and king. He, like all vampires, preys on humans by using the Jedi mind trick, but Rain doesn't fall for it at all. When vampires finds out that a human is not vulnerable to their powers, that human must die. But Harold just can't kill her. He tries not to care about Lorraine, and even tries to scare her off with stories of his medieval exploits before becoming a vampire, but they can't deny that she is safer with him. Things get really complicated When Deborah, the vampire in charge of the southwest, finds out about Rain and thinks she might have a use for a human with her talents. Or Deborah will simply kill her. Rain has to find a way to stay alive, even if that life isn't what she'd ever imagine.
