A great read
I enjoyed reading this book immensely.
An enriching account of a wartime experience
This is an extraordinary and lucid account of how war transformed the life of a young man, transporting him from a rural Australian life to distant corners of the globe, introducing him to new lands and unknown people during the time of conflict. It is an enriching journey and a reminder of simpler times and the underpinning values which allowed many to survive such an experience. It is a compelling read and one I highly recommend.
