American Whirlwind

It is March 1982. Alison McLeod is part of the new breed of young women brave enough to take on the masculine world of business. A product of Edinburgh society, she is outwardly sophisticated, determined and clever but a serious trauma has left her shy and repressed in private.

She meets Jon Bellini, a brash, handsome Italian American at a conference she is hosting. They lock horns then hearts in a whirlwind affair.

Jon’s seemingly open nature is belied by his relationship with his personal assistant, Allan. It might seem straightforward to the untrained eye but Alison has past experience which leads her to suspect a link with US military or intelligence. Can their relationship survive the opposition from external forces as the truth is revealed? Will Jon be allowed to lead a new life with Alison?
