America's 51st State

It's 2064 and Donald Trump is President of the United States of America, and in his final year of the first of three 4-year terms of office. He's not exactly following in his father's footsteps, as his sister, Ivanka, followed by brother, Eric, preceded his tenure. However, in 2062 Donald Junior, aged 83, took the popular decision and knocked the Mexican wall down. Like the one in China it too could be seen from outer space. Three townships were created as a result of the reclaimed material.

Although still the most powerful leader in the World, he, and all that follow him in that office, have to take their turn before assuming ultimate authority; as a rota was devised for various countries to take turns in governing.

The rules are simple: the elected country must have a population of at least 8.5million; two or more countries can combine in government to make up these numbers. During their 4-year term of office it/they can pass any edict unchallenged and the remaining World order must comply. These edicts can have drastic consequences.

These TWERPS (The World Executives' Rotatory Parliamentary Seat(s)) however, were not involved in a scientific venture devised by America's 51st State; if it succeeded it would open many lines of enquiry enabling the unknown to become known. All will be revealed …
