Jennifer Probst is a master of the enemies-to-lovers story. In Any Time, Any Place, a dash of family tragedy adds poignancy. Mixologist and restaurateur Raven Stratton knows to steer clear of playboy carpenter Dalton Pierce, but Dalton is determined to get his hands on Raven’s…bar. A renovation project forces the pair together and brings things to a boiling point. Fans of the Billionaire Builders series will be thrilled to see old characters return, but new readers will find this book holds up as a standalone.

Probst charms with the second in her Billionaire Builders series (after Everywhere and Every Way), the sweetly sexy tale of a sensitive man in a construction company and a gutsy and fiercely independent bar owner with a big secret. After Raven Hawthorne's beloved father is killed in a car crash with Diane Pierce, a married woman, at his side, Raven swears to exact revenge on Diane's sons, whom she blames for spreading the rumor that her father seduced an unwilling Diane away from her family. Dalton Pierce was forced to return to his Connecticut home town by the terms of his father's will, which required him and his brothers to take over the family construction business. When he meets Raven, who's in her element as the owner and chief mixologist of local hangout My Place, he realizes she may be the one woman who can interest him in romantic commitment. Book two in the series was a great build on from the first in the series. The relationship between the brothers continues to build and it was great to see their camaraderie.
Raven’s father was killed in a car crash when she was younger. It appears that he was leaving with Diana Pierce, a betrayal that Raven has never gotten over. Raven owns and runs the local bar; Dalton Pierce has returned to help run Pierce Construction with his two older brothers. What happens when fate brings these two together?
When Dalton goes to the bar with his brothers, he is immediately attracted to the sexy bartender and asks her out; she however is not interested. Dalton offers to restore the bar back to it’s original glory in an attempt to win Raven over. Dalton finally wears Raven down, but can their fledgling relationship survive the ultimate test when the past comes back to haunt them? Or will they be destroyed?
Not only was there smoking hot scenes, but the emotions running deep certainly touched a chord. The chemistry between Dalton and Raven sizzled, their banter at times humourous but underneath it all lies a level of hurt and pain that is simply hard to ignore. Raven wants forever and is convinced that Dalton is not what she is looking for. Can Dalton convince Raven to take a chance?
Any Time Any Place was extremely well written, the characters were believable (not perfect) as were the circumstances they all found themselves in at times. I cannot wait to read Tristan’s book.
