Publisher Description

Updated with a new postscript by Amy Chua and a letter from her eldest daughter, Sophia

Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother
is a story about a mother, two daughters, and two dogs. It was supposed to be a story of how Chinese parents are better at raising kids than Western ones. But instead, it's about a bitter clash of cultures, a fleeting taste of glory, and how you can be humbled by a thirteen-year-old.

Witty, entertaining and provocative, this is a unique and important book that will transform your perspective of parenting forever.

A must read

A must read! Whilst this is not my parenting style I can respect and praise Amy on her journey as a parent. She armed her children the best way she could to be self sufficient, determined, respectful, caring and resilient. If only more parents would take such interest in their own children. She has taken responsibility for her children and not left it to today's educators and carers to raise her children. Amy well done.
