Too short
It was a good story but in my opinion it was too short (around 200 pages). The story could have had further development easily, but the way it’s written only focused in the love story. Nonetheless, it was well written and action packed with no slow bits. I’m more keen on the next book because of the characters (enemies to lovers) which would be interesting given the heroine is a super hard ass, and the hero seems like a playboy.
This is a stand-alone book but I think you will benefit from reading this one before going onto the next.
Great characters, story and world building
I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. The story and characters were great. Loved the chemistry and romance between Maria and Marak and the Kyn world this author built into the story. Another different perspective on vampires. I wish it had been longer. Will continue to read this authors books as I have enjoyed all so far.
Supernaturally good
I downloaded this for free so was surprised at how great the story was. It's set in the supernatural world of Kyn vampires, dangerous and deadly rouges and defenceless humans. Maria is half human/kyn and ashamed of her human side. She secretly sets out to fight off the rouges that killed her sister putting her in the hands of death and a handsome Kyn warrior. Then the romance blossoms but under a shadow of lies and danger.
I loved that the author kept the supernatural setting well woven through the romance. Definitely worth a read 🤓
