“Shelly Laurenston’s shifter books are full of oddball characters, strong females with attitude and dialogue that can have you laughing out loud.” —The Philadelphia Inquirer
The Honey Badgers are at it again in the New York Times bestselling and outstandingly witty, snarky, sexy, shape-shifting, world-building Honey Badger Chronicles. This time around, a family of clueless tiger shifter brothers have no idea how lucky they are to have caught the eye of three fierce honey badger females.
Emily “Tock” Meyerson-Jackson is on a mission to rid the world of shifters trafficking humans for hunting and cash. And now that she’s narrowed down her suspects to a brutal coalition of male lions, nothing will get between this honey badger and her prey—not even a dog-loving Tiger with absolutely no time management skills. Doesn’t matter that Shay Malone is ferociously adorable. With a war brewing between cat families, Tock doesn’t have time to lounge around with a football-playing tiger shifter. But when she realizes the coalition is also responsible for the death of Shay’s father, she’s forced to partner up with the flirtatious feline. . . .
Revenge is most definitely on the menu for Shay and his tiger shifter brothers. But when it comes to Shay’s alluring partner in crime-solving, so is seduction. Tock might be a bad-ass of a honey badger, but she’s awfully cute when she’s flashing her fangs, which she’s pretty much doing all the time these days. Good thing revenge is a dish best served hot. Because when it comes to Tock, Shay knows just how to turn up the heat. . . .
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
A fun, action-packed romp, Laurenston's fifth Honey Badger Chronicles paranormal romance (after Breaking Badger) follows Emily "Tock" Lepstein-Jackson, who shape-shifts between a human and a honey badger, though her honey badger nature rules her personality at all times. Whether she's helping her grandmother's syndicate right wrongs, winning basketball games in an underground shape-shifter's athletic league, or practicing her skills as a master thief, Tock always leaps headfirst into danger. Her most recent mission: to stop the lion shifters she suspects of human trafficking. Weretiger Shay Malone is after the same lions, who are responsible for the death of his father. Shay is uncommonly kind in a cruel world, but he's still up for action and adventure—which is good, because working together with Tock lands him in ambushes, hospitals, and more. Meanwhile, Tock shows her budding love for Shay in the fiercely protective way that only a honey badger can. Though newcomers may struggle to keep up with the layered worldbuilding and large supporting cast, Laurenston delivers all the fast-paced comedy, romance, and hijinks that longtime fans expect. For those readers, this will be a treat.
Customer Reviews
War against Honey badger shifters, who is that crazy? I
The honey badger shifters are highly confused, they haven’t gone out of their way to anger anyone lately, no big heists, no subtle sabotage or even cyber crimes yet someone has developed a very effective poison, designed to be specific to honey badgers, that gets stronger every time it is utilised. A war against honey badgers, who would have thought anyone would be so foolish. The honey badgers are worse than wolverines in nature, hold grudges, enjoy stealing other peoples stuff and are virtually indestructible. The real problems start when their friends, the Amur tiger shifters are also targeted and it seems hostilities are breaking out everywhere. This book is full of action, thrills and humour. It will keep the reader balancing between laughing and crying. It is pure genius.
