Publisher Description

INTRODUCTION Since the first genuine success of the fertilization in vitro of bovine oocytes matured in culture was reported by Iritani and Niwa (1977), various techniques for producing bovine embryos in vitro have rapidly advanced (Tsuzuki et al., 2000; Hansen, 2006; Jang et al., 2008). Although the percentage of in vitro maturation (IVM) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) is high in cattle, the efficiency with which transferable embryos are produced in vitro is still low. Further improvements to the system are needed for embryo production in vitro.
