BROKEN IMAGES by Johnnie E Sanders; a novel written in the spirit of the 80's movie SCHOOL DAZE, and the television series A DIFFERENT WORLD.

BROKEN IMAGES is an unapologetic, explicitly told story of today's higher learning lifestyles on a historically black university -- where many are like a fish out of water, troubled or gifted or privileged, adjusting to life away from home, from family, watching unfamiliar roles , not sure how to act. Shunned for being too BLACK or for acting WHITE; glimpses of others' lives, a different world for the better or worse; an honest initiation to the value systems of life.

For the most are undergrads dealing with division, complexities, learning college is an institution of wannabes, wanting to escape the painful awkwardness of coming from what is considered nothing and wanting to make something great out of nothing to the extent of self exploitation. A tug of war between now and tomorrow
