Ashton Groves, a private investigator with special powers he refuses to use, was critically injured during a job gone wrong. Holly Delaney is a rookie cop assigned to protect Ashton in hospital and until he gives evidence against his assailants.

They both feel a deep mutual attraction but it couldn't come at a worse time—distractions like that are dangerous and could get Holly fired.
