Chronicle of a murder On a quiet evening in the suburbs a man, observed by many neighbors, walked to a home, rang the bell and shot the woman dead without a sound. Investigators suspected the husband was guilty but the physical evidence was imperfect ballistics data, leaving the authorities with circumstantial evidence to arrive at a guilty verdict. Exploring all known avenues of inquiry they arrived at an agreeable solution; the husband was subject to proving his foolproof alibi was not false. With those tenuous conditions, the District Attorney proceeded to trial.
