Korean War: Erupting unexpectedly in 1950 the war lasted for almost four years, extracting a toll of two million casualties on each side; the US suffering over 35,000 killed in action. A series of linked short stories There were many stories of heroism and extreme sacrifice during this horrific conflict occurring a short five years after WW-II: the war to end all wars. The enemy was fanatical, the fighting brutal, the weather miserable, the armed forces inspiring and the ending, tragic. After four years of seesaw battles in South and North Korea it ended in a stalemate, almost at the original borders. The inspirational tales are related in the form of short stories of the men and women who fought and died in what has become known as the Forgotten War.
