Carried Away

P Dangelico is a relatively new author to me and as with the previous book I read from start to finish she drew me in and captivated me with Carrie Anderson and Jake Turner’s story.
The writing was strong and this book was well written with characters that were easy to relate to and you couldn’t help but fall for.
Carrie has returned to her hometown after losing her dream job? But was it? Forced to work at the family bed and breakfast she is focused in getting back to LA as fast as she can. Jake on the other hand has been in the public eye since he was 19, a professional hockey player, but now all he wants now is to disappear.
When Jake and Carrie meet, sparks will fly and the chemistry will build until it until it is too hard to deny. There is so much more to Jake than what people think and that added layer brought more depth to the story. I really loved Carrie and Jake, separately and together.
There was drama, some angst, romance and humour and the banter between Carrie and Jake lead to some laugh out loud moments that had me smiling. I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between them .

4.5 Stars for Carried Away This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last, after reading Carried Away I’m struggling to understand why Ms P. Dangelico has not crossed my radar before now. Carrie Anderson and Jake Turner’s story captivated me from the first page and there was no putting down until I had read the final line, it’s a story with the perfect mix of drama and romance, it’s has just enough laugh out loud moments to leave you smiling like a Cheshire Cat and just enough angst to keep you on the edge of your seat so all in all a perfect read. Carrie is back in her hometown after losing her job and she finds herself working at the family B&B but her heart isn’t there and she finds herself focused on getting over this bump in the road and finding a way back to LA. Jake Turner is a professional hockey player who has spent to much time in the limelight and all he wants is some peace and quiet and just be allowed to be him without a camera in his face.... The attraction is instant and sparks fly from the moment Jake and Carrie meet but will that be enough for this couple to find their HEA. This is one of those stories that draws you in and you have to peel back the characters layers to really get to know them, I found myself on the edge of my seat hoping for the outcome I wanted for a couple I really liked. An entertaining read that I highly recommend.
