Publisher Description
Christopher Columbus did more than discover a new world. He changed the Old World. Through his adventures, he launched Europe's most powerful nations into an era of exploration and colonization - and, in the process, touched off a brutal period of genocide and slavery that would continue for centuries. But while we all think we know everything we need to know about Columbus, he remains an enigmatic figure. Only scholars are familiar with some parts of his remarkable life. Here, from historian Anna Abraham, is his full story.

Christopher Columbus by Anna Abraham
As a an historical account of the voyages of the intrepid and most devout Christian Christopher Columbus, this short narrative is superb in its description of the travels of this very heroic man.
Anna Abraham has included so much detail into her account of Columbus’s several voyages to the Americas, that it is almost as though the reader was on board the boats or on the many islands which Columbus discovered.
What comes out most strongly is Columbus’s strong belief that it was a mission ordained by God that he should find a sea route to Japan and China. The poor man never gave up on his mission. Only ill health, and to a great extent , his rebellious shipmates, prevented him from succeeding it would seem.
