Gastric tumours comprises of benign tumors, malignant tumors and polyps. Gastric tumors have environmental and genetic predisposition. Polyps accounts for 0.9% to 1.9% of overall patients undergoing gastroscopy.1 Gastric carcinoma is fourth most common tumor in the world accounting for 11% of all cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer death (2th in male and female) in India.2 The Percentage of newly diagnosed cancer cases has been estimated in the year 2010 based on the National Cancer Registry Program which showed 556,400 cancer deaths in India.Adenocarcinoma constitutes around 90% of all gastric carcinomas. The overall outcome of disease is improved due to advancement of surgical procedures but advanced cancer still has limited procedures and poor prognosis. Therefore it is mandatory to screen the high risk patients and study on predictors of disease survival and response to therapy.7
