Advances in communications technology have routinely accelerated the various processes of human life allowing individuals to interact more rapidly and collectively while overcoming the challenges of distance and time, among other benefits. During the past century the telephone and later, computers and the Internet dramatically altered the pace and complexity of communications as we knew them.
