Company A! is the account of a special group of mostly very youngmen who became brothers in arms as members of Company A, 1269thEngineer Combat Battalion, serving during 1944 and 1945 in the EuropeanTheatre of Operations of World war II. This record of continuouscombat duty was second only to that of the 3rd Division among allAmerican troops in Europe during World War II. The author, Jeep driverfor the Company Commander, relied on letters home, saved by his parents,augmented by the oral and written recollections of his comrades,battalion records and published memoirs of others for this story.
