Under the protection of mysterious domes, Winter survives apocalyptic weather on the outside. Meanwhile, things heat up inside between the three Founding Families when 23-year-old Lexia Tempest gains more public-facing responsibilities in her family's crop dynasty. This is easy when it comes to the Factory Master's 24-year-old son, Axis Flicker—Lexia's lover since they were teenagers. But maybe not so easy encountering Gauge Snow—head of Winter's mining industry. At age 29, Gauge revels in the spotlight as Winter's Founder and savior from the blizzardy apocalypse.

The Founding Families rule the sectors in a triumvirate of equal opportunity in almost utopian conditions. However, a conspiracy beneath the domed surface challenges not only Lexia, Axis, and Gauge, but the entire foundation of Winter.

Intrigue, sex, and death threaten the balance. Will a looming past and a shining future shatter the delicate shield surrounding the Founding Families? Or will the conspiracy strengthen passionate dynamics in unexpected ways?
