INTRODUCTION Corn is an important ingredient used in diets for pigs in Brazil. About 80% of the Brazilian production of corn is used for the preparation of animal feed. It is characterized as energetic food source (3,930 kcal of GE/kg), rich in starch (63.00%) and contains around 8.00% of CP and 3.60% of crude fat (Rostagno et al., 2005).
