Publisher Description

This book is an essential reference for yachts cruising the Queensland coast.

Each of the 13 coasts, from the Gold Coast to the Cooktown Coast, is covered in detail, including marinas, anchorages, public and private moorings, passages, wind and wave averages, public pontoons and quick reference information.

It features hundreds of chartlets and high-resolution aerial photos of anchorages to take the guesswork out of anchoring. Each anchorage has information on depth, bottom, marine park zone, recommended wind directions and strengths, mobile reception, TV reception and Starlink.

It is also an extensive reference of useful information needed when preparing to cruise the Queensland Coast such as skills and experience, apps, charts and books, equipping the yacht for cruising, cruising logistics, climate and weather systems, marine hazards and the three marine parks and their rules.

It is also available as an eBook for iPad, Android, Mac and PC on the Apple Books, Google Play Books and Amazon Kindle stores.

Beware you only get one fee update

Bought edition one. It said “queensland” coast but stopped at cooktown in its actual given contents, which is kind of annoying as I was unable to preview contents properly before buying. I thought queensland continued to Thursday Island and down to Karumba etc.
fair enough he didn’t complete it is a huge coastline. But now the author wants $104 for the 3rd edition. No way.
Edition 1-2 Collates a lot of useful advice and checklist but only stuff generally available elsewhere. In other words it’s bloated with stuff not directly related to the given title. And the author’s greed forgoes one of the major advantages of ebooks the ability to update the original copy with information and improvements incorporated into later editions.
The best feature is the link straight to open navionics app at related position from the within the ebook. that is neat if you use navionics. Some don’t.
My advice stick to Alan Lucas and Zulu waterways/offshore apps combination. Much better value. This book is a pale echo of the hard copy of Alan Lucas guides. Also it kind of demonstrates the inadequacy of the ebook format, in that the increased size and solidity of a hard copy seems still seems more useful way to represent and browse the information.
