Dead End High

After weeks in hospital battling a serious illness, Adam returns to Pungaru High, a mid North Island secondary school, hoping life will finally settle back into something normal. But on the journey there, he notices a strange woman watching him, her presence unsettling, impossible to ignore. He has no idea how much her appearance is about to change everything.

At school, nothing is as he left it. A bizarre new principal, Mr Vennie, has taken charge following the controversial stand down of his predecessor. His rule changes are inexplicable. Maths classes are cancelled. Computer games replace traditional lessons. The school begins to feel less like a place of learning and more like something else entirely.

Worse still, Adam discovers that one of his closest friends, Doug, has vanished without explanation. Then more students go missing. Then whole families.

As Adam starts asking questions, he realises the disappearances may not be random, and that he himself could be at the centre of something far more sinister. The deeper he digs, the clearer it becomes that a disturbing plot is unfolding around him, one that reaches further than he ever imagined.
