A great addition to this crime series

As I settled in to read the third instalment in the DCI Jude Satterthwaite series, I was overcome with a feeling of calm as I was transported back to the beautiful and picturesque setting of the Lake District. But that feeling was about to be shattered and it was just the calm before the storm…

When Cody Wilder comes to Grasmere, she brings with her a hostility like no other. A controversial American academic, Cody is there to present her research and new findings into William Wordsworth, while Jude and his team are called upon to be her security. When a member of Cody team is murdered, it becomes crystal clear the wherever Cody goes violence follows and Jude will have his work cut out for him in keeping her safe while dealing with the crimes that follows in her wake.

Jude as always is a delight to read, but the standout for me was definitely Cody. A complex and unashamedly outspoken character, that is in equal parts frustrating and fabulous, she really does steal the show. Jo really has done a brilliant job with her and it shows through her depiction that she had a great time creating her.

I throughly enjoy this series, which is still fresh and exciting after three books and with Jude being such a strong character that carries each story well on his shoulders, I hope there will be many more in the series to come.

All up Death on Coffin Lane is a great and entertaining read that with keep you enthralled from beginning to end. With its strong plot, stunning setting, unique and intriguing characters that all come together through Jo’s writing that is very engaging, you can’t go wrong with this book. It was my absolute pleasure to be able to read and review Death on Coffin Lane which I highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley, Aria Fiction and Jo Allen for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Death On Coffin Lane which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
