The gods are at war. Mal is their weapon.
It's been ten years since Mal died. Five years since the god Hades dragged her from the underworld and forged her, through blood and pain, into his living weapon. And in five minutes, the only other agent of Hades she trusts will die.
Someone is assassinating Hades's agents all over New York City. If Mal can't find the one responsible, she'll be next—if she's lucky. If not, she'll watch everything she cares about go up in flames first.
Mal didn't choose this life. But now it's all she has. And she'll be damned if she lets anyone—human or god—take what is hers.

The old Gods are still among us!
Mallory (Mal) is a “marked”, that is a human who serves one of the gods, her “boss” is Hades, the Greek god of Death. Mal was killed 10 years ago and after being dead a few years Hades offered her a chance at a new life. She serves him as security for his temple, an agent of sorts and an occasional assassin, in return when she dies again she her soul will be welcomed into Ellysium, the paradise of Greek gods.
There are a few difficulties with her second life, first as Hades is an ancient god he sees no need for an employment plan, so no salary. Secondly, as Mallory dies she has no social security, her former ID is worthless, yet she needs to pay rents buy food etc. Third, the gods are always at war with one another, and now a new threat is present and enjoying a second life is getting more and more difficult.
This story is certainly a bit different, there is action, intrigue, drama and a touch of humour. Oh yes, there is also a lot of mythology.
