DINO BONE

"What sort of dinosaur had a bone like that?" wondered Josh...

Kat cajoles Josh into going with her to a remote settlers' hut in the farming country in and around the regional town of Tenterfield, Australia. A cattle drover has recently died, and a stash of what could be dinosaur bones, collected over a lifetime, was only discovered after his death. A palaeontologist friend has asked Kat to check out the collection.

Josh and Kat camp in the remote area, where they strike up an unusual friendship with a local stockman. When they get caught up in an emergency and have to flee for their lives, his local knowledge leads them to safety.

Then there is the strange, smooth bone that Kat can't match to any dinosaur she knows, and a newspaper article that someone has circled. Could the two be connected?

And is it only dinosaur bones they find?

DINO BONE is a fiction chapter book with short chapters and plenty of mystery, written for readers aged 7 to 12 who love dinosaurs and fossil hunting. It is the sequel to DINOTHAW and DINOPAL and continues Josh's dinosaur-hunting adventures.
