This book explores a highly successful group of mammals—the carnivores—in stunning visual detail. A comprehensive introduction places carnivores in the context of other living things, and an extensive catalog showcases the incredible variety of these animals. Every group of carnivores is covered, including dogs, weasels, seals, and civets. Many individual specimens are also profiled, each accompanied by clear, concise text and key data.
More extensive features focus on key species, such as the polar bear and the tiger, and include stunning, specially commissioned photography.

It is a memory intensive book. It chews up the RAM.
I had a iPad1, I had to stop all my apps runnning in the background. So with only 256MB of RAM , it is no wonder people were having problems.
I have the new iPad, the 1GB ram really helps. Looks and performs excellent.
The font type is great. Only drawback are the photos - they look a bit low-res under Retina Display.
This is great
This book is great and definately worth the price.
Good for kids to study, grownups who just want to read, or artists (like me) looking for some source material.
As Captain Cranky has noted. This book looks promising but crashes your iBooks app. You need to fully shut down the iBooks app (possibly several times) to escape the grey screen of doom.
