Four and a half stars!
The first book in Drakon's Blood series, this book hooks you into the story quickly and is fast paced enough to keep you there. Drakons are dragon shifters, long living and the sons of dragons with human mothers. Their blood is considered a precious and rare commodity, it prolongs life, cures injuries and can enhance skills and talents. For millenia, drakon's have been hunted by a group of humans who call themselves 'Knights of the dragon', these people ruthlessly hunt down drakons with the intent to drain them of blood. Drakon's, needless to say, would prefer to die than be captured by them. This story involves a researcher who inadvertently gets hired by one of the 'knights' to catalogue his library. This is a ruse,she has been hired to find a powerful book misplaced in the vast collection. This researcher Sarah, accidently overhears her employer plot to abduct a well known recluse billionaire. She sets out to warn him and discovers the existence of Drakons.
Fantastic Read!!!
A quiet librarian puts her life at risk to help a stranger, who just happens to be a drakon. I loved this story from the very beginning. The characters felt real and my tension rose through the story as I worried about what would happen next.
A fantastic start to the series. I look forward to reading the next one.
