Publisher Description

Hercule Poirot is determined to solve an old husband and wife double murder that is still an open verdict…

Hercule Poirot stood on the cliff-top. Here, many years earlier, there had been a tragic accident. This was followed by the grisly discovery of two more bodies – a husband and wife – shot dead.

But who had killed whom? Was it a suicide pact? A crime of passion? Or cold-blooded murder? Poirot delves back into the past and discovers that ‘old sin leave long shadows’.

It's beaver ,

What a great read!

This was the first Agatha Christie book I have read, as I have always listened to or watched her stories. Not that withstanding, I was taken on a journey still, into a world now gone. Ariadne Oliver, is a favourite of mine and she does not disappoint in this tale of love, tragedy and murder.
Poirot is on his game and the interplay between him and Ariadne is both warm and engaging.
For a book you can come back to and keep you wondering "who dunit" or in this case 'did anyone do it?' it's a great read.
