Elly Goes to the Snow

In this book, Millie the Mathematician helps us learn about duration and units of time. We follow Elly on her holiday to the snow and learn to differentiate years, months, weeks, days and hours. We also learn that one year is divided into 12 months; a month is approximately four weeks; a week is equivalent to seven days; and there are 24 hours in a day, which is divided into daylight hours and night-time hours. This book addresses the content from the Measurement and Geometry strand within the Using units of measurement sub-strand. The specific Australian Curriculum content descriptor addressed is: “Describe duration using months weeks days and hours.”
