Emilie Adler

Emilie Adler, a gifted Hungarian athlete, one of only a handful of Jews who refused to boycott the infamous 1936 Nazi Olympics, wins bronze for Hungary. Eight years later, during the German invasion of Hungary, Adolph Eichmann arrives in Budapest and Emilie is caught up in the Holocaust. Working with Raoul Wallenberg, Sweden's special envoy to Hungary, she survives the war years and continues to live in Hungary. But the 1956 Hungarian Revolt is the last straw for Emilie.
