"Linda Smith," a fugitive terrorist formerly of the Front de Libération du Québec, receives a commission that will end her fugitive status and give her high social standing and wealth – if she can successfully accomplish what John Hinckley, Jr. failed to accomplish. Secret Service Agent Caleb Kickbush, enormously strong and anything but debonair, becomes a charter member of a new, heavily armed, special counter-assault unit of the Secret Service being formed on the QT by certain Agents impatient with the stodgy status quo.
