Escaping the Tyrant

After being kidnapped by her manipulative uncle, Audrey is trapped on the dreary island of Winterset. She’s desperate to get home to her father, but it’s near impossible to escape the heavily guarded island. She’s already tried, only to be delivered back to her furious uncle—the Duke of Winterset himself.


Lord Dustin, son of the Duke of Matherburg, finds himself temporarily trapped on Winterset, an island he has no business being on, after a brutal sea storm wrecks his ship. Things turn from bad to worse when a misunderstanding leads to him becoming a prisoner of the Duke of Winterset. When Dustin gets the opportunity to face the Duke and demand answers, he comes to realize that it’s not a misunderstanding after all.


When Audrey overhears the Duke of Winterset’s secret plans to start war with Matherburg, she’s driven to defy her uncle one last time and free his prized prisoner. Now, Audrey and Dustin must work together if they want to escape the tyrant, but between the dramatic changes in the weather and guards determined to capture them either dead or alive, that feat quickly proves to be more difficult than either of them thought it would be.
