Montaigne's Essays: Michel de Montaigne is an important French humanist of late Renaissance. He was once the judge, MP, and mayor of Bordeaux, and had close relationship with the French King Henry the third.

Few men are remembered and respected as Montaigne was. The Essays was published in three volumes during 1580 and 1588. His works have never been out of print since then.
