Rachel Watts has just moved to Melbourne from the country, but the city is the last place she wants to be.
James Mycroft is her neighbour, an intriguingly troubled seventeen-year-old who's also a genius with a passion for forensics.
Despite her misgivings, Rachel finds herself unable to resist Mycroft when he wants her help investigating a murder. He's even harder to resist when he's up close and personal - and on the hunt for a cold-blooded killer.
When Rachel and Mycroft follows the murderer's trail, they find themselves in the lion's den - literally. A trip to the zoo will never have quite the same meaning again...
Sizzling chemistry and urban intrigue combine in this thriller from a fresh, exciting new talent.
'I loved this book. It's quirky and real, fast-paced and full of great characters. Mycroft and Watts are smart, sexy, flawed detectives. The tension between them is electric. I was hooked from the first page.' - Cath Crowley, author of Graffiti Moon
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Rachel Watts and James Mycroft make a great teenage detective duo. Set in in modern-day Melbourne, this decidedly Australian story sees the pair investigating the violent murder of a homeless man they had befriended. Captivating from the first page, Every Day toys with the conventions of the classic detective series and reinvents them in a fun and charming way.
So satisfying, what a great read!
Thank you Ellie Marney for writing an absolute cracker of a book. The characters are so engaging and beautifully crafted, the story is top notch. I'm a bit jealous, to be honest!
Every breath is the first in the 'Every' series, about Rachel and Mycroft, Melbourne misfits with a penchant for macabre crime sleuthing.
This is my new crack.
This book is for all ages. I recently turned 50 and soaked up every page as fast as my eyes could read. Vivid characters. It was like watching a movie.
This is a great read - I couldn’t put it down! Interesting, well-drawn characters, pacy plot, and a slow smouldering romance keeping it all just a bit sexy.
