Exiled

He asked the seer for one glimpse of the heist. He was shown the end of the world instead.

Darius Rarkez was destined for the elite Crimson Guard until treachery stripped him of his name and left him an outlaw in a foreign gutter. Ten bitter years later, the guild's most daring job promises enough gold to buy his escape from Estos and everything he was.

All Darius wants from the seer is proof his crew aren't marching to their deaths. What he's shown instead is a world in ashes — an ancient enemy stirring beneath the realm, and his own face at the centre of it.

Take the gold and run, and hundreds of thousands burn. Stay and fight, and he must save the very people who betrayed him.

(Book 1 of The Divided Region — a gritty fantasy with the epic scope of The Lord of the Rings, the brutality of Game of Thrones, and the pace of a thriller.)
