Publisher Description
On November 15 2013, fans of Australian football will celebrate the 100th birthday of the most famous Tiger of all time—Jack ‘Captain Blood’ Dyer. Ten years since his death, the real story of the renowned Tiger hardman has not been told in any detail, other than in caricature and hype, much of it promoted by the man himself during his illustrious media career. We know he was a football hero during the Depression era and WWII eras, a premiership player, coach and enforcer who by the end of his 312-game career had broken 64 collarbones (well, so he said). We also know he was a master of brutalising the English language and one of football’s first TV, print and radio celebrities.

It's true! I did laugh and cry!
I bought this book to give it to dad for Father's Day, but... I started reading it and I couldn't put it down. A top read!
I found Jack and more!
This book is a celebration of the Richmond Football Club - 2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Jack Dyer's death and the year he would have turned 100! Not only that but the Tiges have made The Top 8 for the first time since 2001. The Dyer family are beside themselves. Congratulations Tony Hardy - the 10 months of research and writing has paid off! Eat 'em alive!
Loved it!!
You don't have to be a footy head to like this book. I loved the history and stories about WWII and The Great Depression too.
Hardy can spin a yarn with the best of them. Congratulations!
