We liked it better than Flight.
This series, to me, is slowly reaching the crescendo and gets better as the story progresses. There are flimsy bits in it (keep calm and suspend your mild annoyance) but I’m hooked now that i have read the next book, Found (the nicely cut abs on the front cover may have something to do with that, ahem :) ).. Both my daughter and I will be reading the Empire Chronicles to find out the rest.
