Eloisa James returns with another fabulous romance in her New York Times bestselling Desperate Duchesses by the Numbers series!

As a young girl, Emilia Gwendolyn Carrington told the annoying future Duke of Pindar that she would marry any man in the world before him-so years later she is horrified to realize that she has nowhere else to turn.

Evander Septimus Brody has his own reasons for agreeing to Mia's audacious proposal, but there's one thing he won't give his inconvenient wife: himself. Instead, he offers Mia a devil's bargain . . . he will spend four nights a year with her. Four nights, and nothing more. And those only when she begs for them.

Which Mia will never do.

Now Vander faces the most crucial challenge of his life: he must seduce his own wife in order to win her heart-and no matter what it takes, this is the one battle he can't afford to lose.

Eloisa's witty, romantic Georgian romances are perfect for fans of Julia Quinn, Lisa Kleypas and Georgette Heyer

4/5

I was dubious at first, as I tend to stick to authors I know, but I found this book to be quite entertaining.

It starts off slowly, and some readers may find sections overly descriptive, but the characters are loveable. The story is also heartwarming, and features twists and turns into the dramatic.

Would recommend, and would read again!

A Nights with a Duke, 5 star Romance!

What a perfectly timed romance novel. There's no better way to say it! Character and relationship development falls into place at just the right time so the reader is never rushed nor bored. This was so enjoyable, with all the steamy bits included, that I finished in 2 days.
Gorgeously written characters, and the only downfall was that I could have done with more descriptive scenery. Still, a great time spent in the 1800s!

Simply Wonderful

My favourite James novel is Three Weeks With Lady X, however Four Nights With The Duke is a very very close second. Beautifully written as always your taken on a delicious journey that leaves a glow in your heart and a smile on your face. Everyone should have an Aunt like Mia, she is a true heroine. I just loved the interaction between Vander and Charlie and I would love to adopt Chuffy as my Uncle. Reading a James novel is always such a pleasure.
