She's been hovering at the edge of my consciousness for all of my adult life, although I've been good at keeping her out, just a blurred shadow in the corner of my eye, almost but not quite out of sight.
Maria Weston wants to be friends.
But Maria Weston has been dead for more than twenty-five years.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
There’s a certain thrill when you receive an unexpected Facebook friend request right before a school reunion. And Laura Marshall’s protagonist, Louise, had conflicted feelings about that reunion to begin with. More than a possible-murder mystery hinged on a twist-laden cold case, Friend Request is an exploration of the lasting damage done by high school bullying. There’s an emotional heft to Marshall’s writing that will make you want to give your younger self a hug and tell them everything will be okay…eventually.

As a sleep deprived mum to a 7month old boy, I am usually only a couple of pages in before I am nodding off. This book nearly had me pulling all nighters, I couldn’t put it down.
A lot of the story resonated with me personally, as just recently becoming a single mum to my little boy, I could sympathise all to well with louise and her feelings towards Sam and Henry and the unfortunate breakdown of a family.
A decent read
I enjoyed the book on the whole and it had a few twists. I wasn't gripped as such but it was a comfortable read.
Good read - didn’t see the ending come
Easy good read. Twist at the end was good - did not suspect it!
