Publisher Description
One day away from living on the streets, former pro football player Jake Hudgins has sunk to an all-time low. When he's offered a job in a fledgling program to transition athletes at the end of their playing careers, he jumps on it, even though the offer was made to the financially sound man he once was, not the broke one he is now. Taxed with being a good example for young athletes, Jake is a fraud, and his coworker is suspicious.
Aggie Hermann has come to terms with never being a size six or even a size twelve. She's made peace with her body and avoids men who see women as objects instead of looking deeper. Her new coworker, Jake, appears to be the superficial variety, and he has a secret. Aggie's certain of that, even as she struggles with the irresistible attraction between them.
Working closely together to get the job done ignites Jake and Aggie's passion until the resulting fire is sure to burn them both. Can their love survive the fallout when Jake's secret is revealed, or will it be reduced to ashes?
This book was originally published as Daring to Win.

Short but oh so good
This was a really quick novella, but wow Jami Davenport managed to pack a fair bit into it despite the length of the bo0k.
I absolutely loved Jake Hudgins and Agatha "Aggie" Hermann, two people hurt by their pasts yet equally determined to rise from the ashes and move on.
From the start of Fumble Recovery, I wanted these two to get together and remain that way. However lies told, even by omission can pollute and destroy a relationship before it can become established.
When the truth is finally revealed will Aggie be able to overcome the betrayal by Jake and move forward in their relationship or has Jake destroyed the one relationship he values the most? Will Jake hang on to the job that he has now come to realize means so much to him or will he be back where he started from, rock bottom?

Great addition to a great series
Book 4 in the Seattle Steelheads and what a great addition to the series that being said I do believe this novella could be read as a stand-alone.
Jake’s football career came crashing down and he is left housesitting for friends trying to keep a roof over his head so when a friend offers him the opportunity to get a program off the ground showing sportsman and sportswomen how to provide for the future he jumps on it problem is no one knows he lived the life that he is going to be trying to convince others not to.....
Aggie is going to be running the program and she can’t believe her luck when she meets Jake at a gala and they hit it off straight away. If they get on this well socially surely runnng the program is going to be a breeze.........
Secrets are hard to keep and the truth will normally come out so will Jake be back to square one, will he lose his job and the woman he has grown very fond off. I loved this quick read it gave me all the feels I expect in a full length novel, I loved the characters and the plot for me this was another hit from this very talented author who certainly knows how to write a sports romance.
