Great Detective, Great Story, Great Author

This is the first DCI Banks story I have read. I hardly put it down and enjoyed the complex plot and contrasting characters. The interactions of various characters adds to the story and enriches the readers journey.
I have read the Rebus series of books and loved it and I think DCI Banks is Rebus, minus the booze but with a connected family. I will now work my way through DCI Banks just as I did with Rankin's Rebus Series.
Peter Robinson seems to tell a tale with clever twists and I recommend them to all detective story readers.
