Hall's Chronicle

An early edition of Hall's Chronicle, this text served as the inspiration for most of Shakespeare's history plays, especially Henry VIII. Sometimes called The Union of the Two Noble and Illustrate Families of Lancastre and Yorke, the lengthy text touches on interesting events during the reigns of Henry VII and Henry VIII and was originally published in 1542.
